Justyna (she/they) is a documentarian and editor from Chicago. They passionately chronicle community stories and make films that heed cultural competence. Outside of Camera Ambassador, you can find them backcountry backpacking or crafting Pokemon card shadowboxes. THE COMMUNITY

The 6th edition of the Cinema Femme Short Film Fest runs from April 25 - May 2, 2024. This one-of-a-kind festival emphasizes the importance of supporting emerging female and non-binary filmmakers by connecting them to seasoned industry members through the Breaking Down Walls mentorship program and retreat.
Twenty short films are selected to screen across four programs. Four of those filmmakers will then be awarded a three-month mentorship with a seasoned filmmaker. This will be the festival's second year as a hybrid event, combining four in-person screenings at the Music Box Theatre with the option to view films virtually. There will be two screenings the eventing of April 28, and two screenings the evening of May 1.

The North American Eclipse Film Challenge invites filmmakers to create a short film, 10 minutes or less, centered around the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.
The film's theme should revolve around the transformative and profound realizations associated with eclipses. Submissions will be considered for inclusion in a Feature Film Anthology and contribute to a Guinness World Record attempt for the most films shot simultaneously on a common subject!

The 40th Chicago Latino Film Festival is coming up! The fest screens close to 100 films from all over Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, Portugal and the United States, offering Chicago film lovers from all walks of life the opportunity to view films that might otherwise be inaccessible because they have yet to secure a distributor or streaming deal. Festival programming reflects recent trends in Iberoamerican cinema, from films that have become a sensation in the international festival circuit or were box-office hits in their country of origin or have yet to be released theatrically.
