We are looking for a detail-orientated, dependable, and hands-on person on Monday’s & Friday’s to help keep rentals moving. This role supports day-to-day operations: prepping and testing gear, assisting clients with preps, helping clients at the front desk, processing payments, keeping the shop organized and stocked, processing expendables, and completing various shop errands.
Key Responsibilities
- Help with check-ins and check-outs
Greet clients, pull and stage orders, help load and unload, take and process payments, and update payment + equipment status in our booking software.
- Prep and tech gear
Clean, inspect, test, perform minor maintenance, and confirm every order is complete and functioning before it goes out. Flag any issues that need deeper repair.
- Shipping and receiving
Receive deliveries, create shipping labels as needed, keep incoming and outgoing items organized, and process new expendable items.
- Transportation and logistics
Pick up and return sub-rentals, make client deliveries and pick ups, shop for the client kitchen, and other light shop errands - using your own reliable vehicle.
- Provide email and phone coverage as needed
Monitor the inbox and phone line during your shift, respond to routine questions using our standard info, and route more complex requests to the right teammate.
- Keep the shop, expendables store, and kitchen organized and stocked during your shift
Light cleaning, resetting, restocking, breaking down boxes, and removing trash. Note: The shop is cleaned weekly by a professional cleaning crew, so only light cleaning to keep it maintained is needed.
- Support the operations team
Jump in on overflow tasks as needed and helping with other day-to-day shop & client needs as they come up.
Required Qualifications
- Available Monday & Friday's from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Reliable car and valid driver's license
- Hands-on familiarity with camera gear. Familiarity with lighting and grip is a plus
- Able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working through checklists
- Friendly, professional communication with clients and teammates
- Comfortable using online management tools such as G-Drive, Notion, and Flex - We can train you, but you should be ready to work in it daily
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a rental house, camera shop, production, or gear tech role
- Experience with barcoding workflows and tracking expendables
- Ability to help with simple shop content or social posts, when needed
Compensation & Schedule
$20.00 per hour, with guaranteed hours on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is an on-site, part-time role based at our Chicago shop.
