Midwest Film Festival (MFF) proudly presents “Alternative Takes” for May's upcoming First Tuesdays event. This collection of nine short films offer distinct atmospheres, each with their own unique point of view. The selection features a range of dark humor, heartfelt expressions , and a mix of experiences for the senses.
First Tuesdays start with a 7 pm social hour, 8 pm show, followed by a Q&A with members of the artistic teams who'll provide insights into their creative visions.

CineCity Studios Chicago is holding a Gear Garage Sale on Sunday, May 15th from 11 am to 3 pm at CineCity! Local 600 & 476 members can sell tools, bags, carts, and other gear. All are welcome to come buy or just say hi! And even if you don't have anything to buy or sell, be sure to stop by for a bite at Da Pizza Dude food truck! We are excited to provide this opportunity for members and non-members alike to build community and solidarity.
The Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is a grant designed to support Chicago-based filmmakers and digital media artists whose work encourages social change.
Local artists with varying levels of experience are welcome to apply, including both accomplished as well as emerging artists. All genres are eligible but the content must address current social justice issues and/or represent points of view of those who have historically been marginalized by mainstream media because of their sexual orientation, race, class, religion, ability, immigration, or other minority status. Projects by women, transgender and gender non-conforming people, and artists of color are especially encouraged.
