Summer Screenings is Cinema/Chicago's annual free film series that casts a spotlight on a different country's national cinema each week all summer.
In celebration of the 60th Chicago International Film Festival, this year's Summer Screenings draws on the rich history of programming women-directed films by showcasing new or little-seen work from their distinguished roster of Festival alumnae.
Featuring an eclectic mix of film and genres, from an off-beat collection of animated shorts and riveting family dramas to witty social satires and fiery historical musicals, the program is a dynamic exploration of incredible films made by women from around the globe. Check out the full line up!

Filmscape Chicago brings together filmmakers, artists, technicians, and students from across Chicago and the greater Midwest for two days of networking, education, and training - all completely for free. Filmscape began in 2019 as a nonprofit organization focused on education for the Midwest’s film and television community.
Each year, they put on a two-day event bringing industry leading manufacturers to exhibit their newest product on our trade show floor. Additionally, these two days feature dozens of classes, ranging in focus and department, and from intro level to highly advanced. Every part of the show is completely free of charge for all attendees.

SUNDANCE X CHOOSE CHICAGO 2024. This exciting event, in partnership with the iconic Sundance Institute, will bring three days of film screenings to Chicago for the first time, along with innovative programming including a short film program and masterclass for emerging filmmakers, Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, and more. The special event will take place on June 28-30, 2024.
The Music Box is partnering with the Japanese Arts Foundationto throw Godzilla a birthday party June 7 - 13, and you're invited! Come celebrate 70 years of everyone's favorite kaiju with film screenings, special guests, unique preshows, a 24-hour Showa-era marathon, and more!
