The Voigtländer Zoomar 36-82mm Zoom lens is a professional rehouse of the first commercially available zoom lens meant for the 35mm Still Film format. Originally introduced in 1959, it’s been brought new life in a collaboration between Ancient Optics and GL Optics, bringing a full 330° rotation to the focus movement, parfocality, industry standard gearing, and a housing that can take clamp-on matte boxes. It covers full frame and VV+ sensors with improved close focus down to 2’9”, and the optics maintain the gorgeous single coatings the lens was originally designed with. It lends beautiful gold/rose tinted flares, expressive edge falloff, and gentle contrast through the entire image all at a consistent T/3.1.
