The Call Sheet Magazine
The Call Sheet started in 2022 as a collaboration between two of Chicago's femme-led film organizations, Camera Ambassador and Cinema Femme. Rebecca Martin Fagerholm of Cinema Femme was Editor-in-Chief, Erica Duffy was Publisher, and an all-femme and non-binary team of writers covered Chicago filmmakers through interviews and personal essays. We printed it on paper as well as online.
We put out two volumes, and both are free to read in full below.
Two volumes
Volume 1: Healing Through Art
Our first issue came out in January 2023 and looked at how filmmaking helps storytellers heal.
Volume 2: Unconventional Superheroes
Our second issue, with a cover story on Chicago-born director Sam Bailey, launched at the shop in late 2023 and officially released January 2024.
Launch nights
Celebrated in our shop.
We threw a launch party at the shop for each volume, with the writers, the people they wrote about, and everyone who helped make the magazine happen.
