A Cheater Adapter is a specialized piece of grip equipment used in film and photography to allow for greater downward tilt of lighting fixtures, particularly when barn doors are in use. It features a 5/8" receiver with a 5/8" baby pin set at an angle, which effectively eliminates interference from barn doors, enabling lights to be positioned closer to the subject and at steeper angles than would be possible with a standard baby pin mount.
